The main purpose of the trip was to give Mateo Zuluaga our 17-18 junior the chance to race outside of Florida, and help him develop his racing skills. The Gwinnett Bike Fest is one of the few stage races in the south east, and promised to be a great 5 day event, with 6 races (2 critirium's, 1 circuit, 2 road courses and 1 individual time trial)For the juniors the event was 4 days and 5 races, and Mateo raced all 5 races taking 4 victories and one 3rd place taking; the overall championship for his category.
This is a tremendous accomplishment and the entire team is extremely proud of our junior racer. Mateo is one of the top juniors in the state and surly will be one of the best in the country. do not be surprised when a pro team comes looking for him.The team was also represented by Juan Tobon (Team Paisa – Atlanta) and Juan Acevedo (Team Paisa – Miami)
